Biography

Amber Rodd, FNP-C, is a passionate and caring nurse practitioner who strives to provide each patient with the respect and medical care they deserve. Amber started her career as a registered nurse serving cancer patients at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. During this time in her life, she was able to develop personal relationships with patients and assist each of them through the most difficult times in their lives. Whether she was administering chemotherapy or comforting a family member, she learned the importance of taking care of not only patients but also their family members. Amber transitioned to the emergency department which allowed her to provide care to patients of all ages with a variety of health concerns. This experience allowed Amber to hone her skills as a nurse while working with critically ill patients. These experiences included treating various trauma-related injuries and acute stroke and cardiac care. As her career advanced, she became a leader in the emergency department and took on the role of Assistant Director at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Leading teams of dedicated nurses and staff to provide the highest quality care is what gave her the most enjoyment.

After years of gaining valuable experience as a registered nurse, Amber decided that she needed to go back to school. This provided the necessary education, training, and skills to advance her career and become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Following graduation from Albany State University with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, she began practicing internal medicine at the McIntosh Clinic. She finds great enjoyment by spending time with her patients and getting to know each and every one of them on a personal level. Amber’s daily practice includes providing care for adults of all ages with a special interest in women’s health, pulmonology, and sleep medicine.
