Rheumatology
Rheumatology is a sub-specialty in internal medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. The emphasis is on clinical problems involving joints, soft tissue, and allied conditions of connective tissue. These conditions include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, vasculitis, and inflammatory muscle disease. Most treatment modalities are based on immunology.
